head of World AIDS Day, 1st, December 2024, earlier today, we carried out sensitization and HIV awareness targeting the Key population and vulnerable women in various communities in Ado Odo Ota Ogun State. We provided voluntary HIV testing and counseling to 72 women and those that were tested positive were referred and taken up by LACA officials who were also on the ground providing the onsite services.
The women were also taken on safe sex practices and consistent use of condoms to protect themselves from HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and overcoming self-stigma.
We also shared 206 male condoms including IEC material and Fact sheets on HIV/AIDS to the women.
